Throwing the four-seam fastball

When first starting out as a pitcher in baseball, the primary pitch every pitcher should know is a normal four-seam fastball. Whenever you are in a slump, use the four-seam fastball to get back into the count.

To grip and throw the four-seam fastball is very easy. To grip the ball, hold your middle and index finger over both horseshoe laces. To throw this pitch, simply start with your windup and release the ball around your head, following through with your release. If done right, this pitch will take the fast route to the strike zone, and possibly sink down.
